Louisiana Orthopaedic Specialists Adds Spine Surgery Specialist

Aug 27, 2024 | Press Release, Uncategorized

Louisiana Orthopaedic Specialists is growing again – bringing top-quality physicians and surgeons to Acadiana! LOS is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Todd E. Fountain to our practice. Dr. Fountain is a board-certified Neurosurgeon who specializes in spine surgery and will begin seeing patients in our Lafayette clinics in early September.

Dr. Fountain completed his medical school training at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and his Neurosurgery Residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.  Dr. Fountain has been in practice for fifteen years at the Semmes Murphey Clinic in Memphis, TN, a leading destination for neurosurgical care in the United States.  He also served as a Professor of Neurosurgery and Director of the Neurosurgical Fellowship through the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Dr. Fountain was recognized recently as a Top Doctor in Neurosurgery and Spine Surgery in 2023 and 2024.

Dr. Fountain specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery and robotic-assisted spine surgery for conditions of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. He will treat patients with herniated discs, spinal arthritis and stenosis, complex spine problems, spinal cord tumors, and peripheral nerve issues, to name a few.  Dr. Fountain performs a large variety of procedures including nerve decompression, discectomy, spinal fusion, cervical disc replacements, spine fracture surgery, nerve tumor surgery, peripheral nerve surgery, and spinal cord stimulator placement.

Dr. Fountain, raised in Natchez, Mississippi, and his wife Rebecca, who grew up in Columbia, Mississippi, have been looking for a new adventure. The Fountains found that Lafayette, Acadiana and Louisiana Orthopaedic Specialists have fulfilled all of their expectations in what they are looking for in a new home.

“During my training at the Mayo Clinic,” Dr. Fountain said, “The motto was always clear, ‘The needs of the patient come first.’ This is my continued and constant focus – to treat every patient with respect, truly listen to them, assess their needs, and provide the absolute best care for success.”

LOS is excited about the addition of Dr. Fountain to our practice and medical community and the positive impact he will have on Acadiana.
