A new health care-based accelerator program has named 10 startups that will participate this fall in Lafayette.
The list includes New Orleans-based Levisonics, which uses a non-contact method to analyze blood coagulation and fluid quality control testing.
Other companies selected from a list of 70 applicants are Fairway Biomed of St. Louis, Missouri; NeuroRescue of Columbus, Ohio; Birya Biotech of Baltimore, Maryland; F3 Healthcare of Carrboro, North Carolina; Hera Health Solutions of Atlanta; Cure Global of Pineville, Louisiana; Insight Optics of Atlanta, ThinkGenetic of Boston; and ExperonHealth of Lafayette.
The federally funded program runs from Aug. 28 until late November in Opportunity Machine, a startup incubator in Lafayette.
The companies will be able to work with interns from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s MBA program and could receive investment funding from the program’s healthcare partners and individual investors.
Acadian Companies, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana, Lafayette General Foundation, LHC Group, Louisiana Orthopaedic Specialists, The Perret Group and VieMed have agreed to test the products and services from the startups, a news release said.
The companies will compete for $2,500 in cash prizes during the Get Started Medical pitch contest on Aug. 30.
