Bryce Fugarino, MD is a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in orthopedic hand, wrist, and elbow surgery. He is a member of the Louisiana Orthopaedic Association and the American Academy for Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Fugarino joins Louisiana Orthopaedic Specialists after completing his Fellowship in Surgery of the Hand and Upper Extremity at NYU Hospital for Joint Disease. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and went on to gain his medical degree and complete his residency at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. Due to Dr. Fugarino’s time practicing medicine in both Louisiana and New York he passed the intensive medical exams twice to be fully licensed in both states.
Dr. Fugarino is an avid golfer and a fan of Notre Dame and Saints football. Most of his time off is spent with his wife, Jessica, and his three children. Dr. Fugarino will be practicing at our Lafayette clinic.

I never had to wait more than 10 min in front waiting room. Fast X-ray and wait to see Dr. Dr Fugarino did a great job on my broken wrist! Recovery was pretty easy! I wouldn’t go anywhere else than LOS! Great staff, always smiling and clean facility!!

Dr. Figuarino repaired carpal tunnel issues that were complicated by an old serious wrist injury. He took my information about the old injury to heart and did some additional scar tissue scraping and procedures which doubled the time of the surgery. The results were considerably better than expected in a shorter than expected time period. In addition his follow up care was outstanding. I am so happy and grateful for the care that I received from Dr. Bryce Fugarino and the entire LOS family. He pretty much had to reconstruct my entire elbow after I fell off of the top of a 9’ ladder doing home renovations. I had a dislocation, broken bones on either side of the elbow, torn most of the ligaments and tendons holding it together, had cartilage break off, and he also had to rehome one of the nerves in that area to prevent future pain/issues down the road. He was so professional and patient and explained everything to where I could understand it. Surgery went well, and he was thankfully able to avoid having to use any metal such as screws or plates to put everything back together. I began with LOS’s physical therapy the next week. 10 weeks after surgery I was fully healed and able to do everything that I was able to prior to the accident! The scars are very minimal. Same day appt. My son broke his wrist Friday evening, we were put off by another facility. Called LOS on Monday and received an appt the same day. All staff very friendly. I went in with my husband for his carpal tunnel evaluation. I had a volar cyst that had returned after previous surgery to remove it. I showed it to him and he had them make a chart for me and he drained it for me right then. I didn’t need to make an appointment to return later. Dr.Fugarino was recommended by my surgeon, a shoulder specialist. After surgery, my shoulder healed but there was so much muscle and nerve damage that my hand needs much more therapy. Dr. Fugarino came highly recommended from a local physical therapist that I have known for years. The customer service and patient care exhibited by Dr. Fugarino’s office staff was superior from the first point of contact. They made it possible for me to been seen the same day for an injury that required urgent attention. Upon arrival all interactions were prompt with little to no wait time even having the necessary imaging procedures completed prior to me being brought to an exam room. Once his nurse had me ready for him to evaluate my injury, There was little to no wait for him to enter the examine room. Dr. Fugarino’s bedside manner was phenomenal. In addition, his medical knowledge exhibited during the course of the physical exam was superior. As a patient with anxiety experiencing an injury of this magnitude, I never felt anxious during the visit. Dr. Fugarino was so down to earth and easy to talk to and allowed me to ask questions for my understanding and clarification without making me feel like a bother, which helps anyone that experiences anxiety to stay calm and focused. My husband and I were in a horrible automobile accident and I had multiple fractures one of which was my right wrist. We were admitted to the hospital and I was very fortunate Dr. Fugarino was on call. He explained the break and answered all of my questions prior to surgery. My surgery was late in the day and with all the COVID restrictions I asked my daughter to be there because she is an Occupational Therapist and would know what questions to ask when I returned from surgery. Although it was late in the evening when Dr. Fugarino finished surgery he went over everything with my daughter going over every detail of my surgery, showed her pictures of the break as well as how he repaired it and answered her many questions. She told me he never tried to rush her and he explained in detail although he had been working all day into the night. He cares and takes time with his patients. I was very pleased with my visit with Dr. Fugarino. He explained my condition and presented options to help with the pain. I had deQuervain's tendonitis. Everyone from the receptionists to the nurses to the Nurse Practitioner Emily, to Dr. Fugarino were extremely down to earth, friendly, & most importantly, knowledgeable. The wait time was only 5 min & once I got to the back, another 4 or so until I saw the dr. Dr. Fugarino was very thorough w/ his questions about my triggar finger issues & we discussed my options in detail. Great place & great care.
