On March 19th, Matthew D. Williams, MD was installed as President of the Louisiana Orthopaedic Association at their Annual Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr Williams is a fellowship-trained and board-certified shoulder and elbow surgeon with Louisiana Orthopaedic Specialists (LOS) in Lafayette, LA.
Dr. Williams graduated from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans and New Orleans Charity Hospital. He completed his shoulder and elbow fellowship at the University of Texas in Houston, with additional shoulder training at the renowned St. Anne Lumiere in Lyon, France with the inventors of the internationally recognized reverse shoulder arthroplasty procedure.
Specializing in arthroscopic shoulder surgery, shoulder replacement, reverse shoulder replacement, and revision surgery to repair failed replacement, his extensive experience has helped patients across the south find relief from a wide array of shoulder and elbow conditions. Dr. Williams and his partners at Louisiana Orthopaedic Specialists serve as a Healthcare Alliance Partner providing care for all Ragin Cajun Athletes.
